This filler was initially used to add volume to those parts of the face with facial fat loss, a severe medical condition also known as lipoatropy. But with time, dermatologists researched on its other uses to successfully counter unattractive signs of aging. Some typical signs of aging are wrinkles and fine-lines, dehydrated and loose skin that looks like bags under the eyes.

After observing its overwhelming and long lasting results, Sculptra soon became surgeons and dermatologists favorite to counter signs of aging by helping plump up the skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Sculptra Cost

Let’s first look at the investment that you need to make to get this treatment.  You can look at $600 – $2,000 depending on your age and the amount of correction you’ll need.  I know that’s a big range, but that’s just the way it is.  Read the Sculptra reviews (right side bar – find your nearest local administrator) to find the cost of this treatment near you.

How does it work?

There is a very essential protein called collagen that is produced naturally under the skin, responsible for retention of sufficient water and regulation of blood to keep the skin hydrated and from falling loose. Sculptra is injected deep into the skin which boosts up the production of collagen that might have stopped producing over time. Thus making your skin look more youthful and firm.

Scultpra is not over-the-night treatment, this too takes its fair share of time to show results, though, it might show immediate effects on some skins, for others it takes a typical time of few months after receiving the treatment of 4-6 weeks apart.

Although, Scultpra is not recommended for those with highly sensitive skins or allergies.

Possible Side Effects:

Immediately after the treatment, that is when you have received the injection, it is advised to message those areas 5 times a day for up to 1 week to keep the skin from forming nodules. These lumps or nodules, that rarely form, are diminished gradually over weeks or months. But in severe cases where these are noticeable, patient is given a drug called hyaluronidase which has proven to speed up the dissolution of such formations.

Also, such an injection is strictly not advised for lips, though corners of the lips can be lifted.

Scultpra’s long lasting effect:

Sculptra is popular among the dermatologists for being the first ever medicine with effects that lasts as long as 2 years while all the other injectable fillers have only proven to show results that only last for months or a year.
