Las Vegas has long been stereotyped as an oversized gambling den with little else to offer but the sports scenario is wild and thriving and gives the area a good name. The city can boast of many spectator sports and matches are a frequent occurrence in the area. The name of the team is Runnin’ Rebels and they are the winners of the National Collegiate Title. They originated from a small amateur team in the University of Nevada and evolved into a force to be reckoned with. After 1990, many players from this small team have gone on to become professional sportsmen.
Most of their games are held at the Thomas and Mack Centre and people come in the thousands to watch.
Boxing
Although major players have not really risen out of Las Vegas, the area has hosted plenty of championship finals and has made that as a sort of forte of theirs. The largest fights happen somewhere between September to November.
American Football
This is one of the most loved sports in the area and Las Vegas has two professional teams which go by the names of Runnin’ Rebels Football Team and the Gladiators. They both play home games at the same place which is the Thomas and Mack Sports Center. The larger matches draw unbelievably large crowds.
Ice Hockey
Ice hockey doesn’t have the same following as American football but it gets by. The Las Vegas thunder is the main team and they are a part of the Hockey Sports League. Many players that have risen to fame through this team have established major careers in ice hockey and are now known all over America.
October and April is the main season in which ice hockey is played and it is enjoyed by the locals. The Thomas and Mack Center is where most games are played.
